Ebola, another mysterious disease that kills in Africa but not here. A couple of years ago 4 or so workers got flown back to NYC to get treatment for Ebola. 2 of them got better before the treatments started... It's likely a toxicity issue, as Africa does have toxic mines and water table issues.

I remember watching a local news channel at the time that said 2 of them got better before treatment. At the time they were also talking about how nictonoids were looking to be a treatment for Ebola. At the time, I was fully immersed in the mainstream view of what causes disease and was shocked how 2 of them got better before treatments because they were talking how it was a death sentence....
The story was probably like sars and other boogeymen to build fear of germs leading up to con-vid, which thankfully was a flop too.
